Job description

Canadian University Dubai invites applications for Part‑Time Faculty position in Mathematics. Reporting directly to the Dean, the successful candidate will contribute to high‑quality teaching and academic delivery while supporting departmental and institutional academic objectives. The role is suited to experienced educators committed to student learning, academic rigor, and professional engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned Mathematics courses, with a teaching load of up to six credit hours per semester.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and assessment, ensuring timely submission of mid‑semester and final grades to the Registry Department.
  • Prepare, revise, and submit lesson plans for each assigned course no later than one week after the start of the semester, using the official syllabus template, with records maintained by both the Registry and the Department Head.
  • Develop and update course materials as required to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Assist the Department Head in evaluating course objectives, content sequencing, and overall curriculum effectiveness.
  • Recommend curricular enhancements and academic improvements aligned with program goals.
  • Report equipment maintenance or procurement needs to the Department Head in a timely manner.
  • Recommend the acquisition of appropriate academic and reference materials for the department.
  • Supervise, teach, and/or administer independent study courses, as assigned.
  • Attend faculty and departmental meetings, as requested.
  • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the mission, purpose, and goals of the university in the performance of all responsibilities.
  • Support the Department Head in representing the university in academic and professional activities, as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A minimum of a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution is required.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university or college level is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver undergraduate Mathematics courses effectively is required.
  • Familiarity with student assessment practices, academic record keeping, and curriculum delivery in a higher education environment is expected.
