Job Description

The Managing Director French Speaking Africa will be responsible for the strategic initiatives of the assigned hotels tied to business expansion, growth, and the necessary cultural evolution to support both. The function should be supportive, proactive, analytical and entrepreneurial; creating memorable moments for our guests, fostering an empowered environment for the team whilst working closely with all key business partners in order to achieve quality results. The Managing Director French Speaking Africa will represent RHG locally and regionally and become not only a central role for our operational matters but also in supporting the brand image of the group as a spokesperson and a leader.

  • Ensure the smooth running of leased, managed and franchised RHG hotels, where all areas of the business are managed effectively and that the guest service experience is delivered to the highest levels, ensuring both the property and the company standards are attained and adhered to. Working proactively with all key stakeholders at all levels to ensure that guest satisfaction and comfort are maximized, delivering a positive and responsive approach to enquiries and problem resolution.
  • Develops and implements strategies where key hotel metrics are identified, communicated and delivered where reports and tracking tools are reviewed and acted upon to ensure that strategies and initiatives are attained or exceeded.
  • Working with key stakeholders, effectively manages and reviews the life cycle of the team within each hotel, fostering a culture of growth, development and performance whilst reflecting and promoting the company culture and values.
  • Owner of the hotel budget, business and sales plan for each property, ensuring that all areas of the business are controlled. Maximizing sales and profit, business opportunities and brand reputation, productivity and performance.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationship with all key stakeholders and business partners both internal and external ensuring that all communications and activities are controlled and undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Reviews and scrutinizes business activities for all properties, in accordance with company policy, objectives and best practices, providing recommendations that will drive financial performance and provide added value
  • Ensures adherence to all legislation for each property, where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and seminars to enhance our brand and expand our network.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies that could impact the company’s offerings and strategy
Qualifications
  • Proven senior-level leadership experience in French-speaking Africa.
  • Proficiency in both French and English is mandatory.
  • Proven expertise in managing owner relationships.
