Job summary

Novotel & ibis Balikpapan in Dubai is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, support leadership in achieving high guest satisfaction and guide servers to deliver premium service. The role requires hands-on supervision, cost awareness, and strong guest relations.

You will collaborate with the Head Chef and Reception to maintain service standards, collect guest feedback, and report daily activities while fostering teamwork and a guest-first culture throughout

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years management experience in Restaurants and Bars.
• 1–2 years in a public contact position preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
• Enter and locate work related information using computers and/or point of sale systems
• Possess a gracious friendly and fun demeanor
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with high attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
• Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork

Responsibilities

• Ensure day to day operation is smooth in the restaurant.
• Assist leadership team in achieving high guest satisfaction.
• Guide and lead the server in the restaurant.
• Perform duties of supervisor on a regular basis.
• Maximize sales potential and encourage up selling to maximize rates.
• Ensure cash floats are secured at all times.
• Work within budgeted costs.
• Minimize abuse of operating equipment.
• Complete requisitions for supplies and ensure delivery and accounting.
• Minimize overtime usage.
• Ensure sufficient operating equipment at all times.
• Record all voids and report payment discrepancies to Restaurant Manager.
• Follow procedures when handling cash, cards and cheques.
• Address guest complaints and report to Manager.
• Liaise with colleagues over guest requirements.
• Handover at shift end and start.
• Liaise with Head Chef and Reception regularly.
• Glean guest feedback continually.
• Create and maintain rapport with regular guests.
• Maintain high customer profile and handle guest comments promptly with thorough follow-through.
• Familiarize with guest needs to ensure efficient service.
• Maintain quality and consistency in food, beverage, service and cleanliness.
• Be results driven and accountable.
• Undertake regular inspections to protect company assets.
• Ensure the business is seen as a respected community member by local influencers.
• Carry out other duties within scope of the job as requested.
