Job Summary
The Land Surveyor - Infrastructure Works role supports the delivery of complex infrastructure projects in Dubai by ensuring precise measurements, accurate setting‑out, verified alignment data, and dependable survey records throughout the project lifecycle. The surveyor will coordinate with contractors, supervision teams and project stakeholders to maintain survey accuracy, resolve discrepancies, verify as‑built information, and support progress measurement, testing, commissioning and handover activities across transportation, utilities, stormwater drainage and microtunneling works.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographic, control, and setting‑out surveys for infrastructure projects, including stormwater drainage and microtunneling works.
- Establish, verify, and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, reference grids, coordinates, and site survey controls.
- Review approved drawings, alignment data, coordinate systems, and project survey requirements before field execution.
- Perform accurate horizontal and vertical alignment checks for pipelines, tunnel drives, pipe inverts, shaft locations, and related infrastructure works.
- Monitor microtunneling drive alignments, breakthrough coordinates, and tolerance compliance throughout construction activities.
- Carry out as‑built surveys and verify the accuracy of contractor as‑built drawings, field records, and submitted survey data.
- Maintain complete survey records, field books, digital data files, calculations, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Work with contractors and supervision teams to identify, investigate, and resolve survey discrepancies or site deviations.
- Verify and certify survey results for measurement sheets, interim payment records, progress verification, and project reporting.
- Participate in pre‑construction meetings, progress reviews, and coordination discussions to provide survey input and status updates.
- Check final levels, coordinates, and alignment details during testing, commissioning, and handover stages.
- Apply RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and project‑specific standards during survey activities for utility and infrastructure works.
- Calibrate, maintain, and check survey instruments in accordance with quality assurance and project control procedures.
- Support quality, safety, and technical compliance by ensuring survey work is completed accurately and safely in field conditions.
- Follow all health and safety requirements during site visits, field measurements, tunnel‑related works, and infrastructure inspections.
- Maintain high accuracy, clear communication, and professional coordination across all survey tasks.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in surveying and setting‑out for infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 3 years diploma qualification in Civil Engineering or Surveying is required where applicable.
- RTA approval and certification for microtunneling works is mandatory.
- RTA or Dubai Municipality approval is mandatory.
- Strong experience in stormwater drainage, deep pipeline works, shaft construction, utility corridors, and tunnel alignment monitoring.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GPS, Total Station, and surveying software.
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems, datum control, benchmarks, vertical alignment verification, and construction tolerances.
- Familiarity with RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and UAE construction standards for infrastructure and utility projects.
- Ability to interpret approved drawings, alignment data, shop drawings, as‑built submissions, and technical survey documentation.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to survey accuracy and reliable field reporting.
- Good physical fitness and readiness for regular fieldwork in active construction environments.
- Valid driver's license.
