Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographic, control, and setting‑out surveys for infrastructure projects, including stormwater drainage, deep pipeline, shaft, and microtunneling works.
- Establish, verify, protect, and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, reference grids, and project coordinate systems.
- Review approved drawings, alignment data, coordinates, datum information, and vertical control requirements before field implementation.
- Perform precise measurements for horizontal alignments, vertical alignments, pipe inverts, tunnel drives, shaft locations, road levels, and utility‑related construction points.
- Monitor microtunneling drive alignments and breakthrough coordinates to ensure work remains within approved tolerances.
- Carry out as‑built surveys and verify the accuracy of contractor as‑built drawings, measurement records, and submitted survey data.
- Maintain organized survey records, field books, instrument data, digital files, coordinate reports, and supporting documentation for project audit and approval purposes.
- Work with contractors, inspectors, engineers, and supervision teams to resolve survey discrepancies, deviations, clashes, and alignment issues on‑site.
- Verify and certify survey results used for measurement sheets, interim payment checks, progress verification, and quantity‑related documentation.
- Participate in pre‑construction meetings, progress discussions, technical reviews, and field coordination sessions to provide survey‑related input.
- Ensure survey activities are performed safely during field operations, especially near excavations, trenches, live roads, shafts, and active construction zones.
- Calibrate, check, and maintain GPS, Total Station, levels, and related survey instruments in line with project quality assurance procedures.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover stages by confirming final levels, coordinates, alignments, utility locations, and completed works.
- Review site conditions against drawings and raise early warnings where actual levels, coordinates, or access constraints may affect project execution.
- Coordinate with teams working under RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and other authority standards to maintain compliance with local infrastructure requirements.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in land surveying, setting‑out, and infrastructure survey works.
- Minimum 3‑year diploma qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a relevant technical field.
- Mandatory RTA approval and certification for microtunneling works.
- RTA or Dubai Municipality approval is preferred.
- Strong experience with stormwater drainage, deep pipeline construction, shaft works, tunnel alignment monitoring, utility works, and infrastructure construction surveys.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, GPS equipment, Total Station, leveling instruments, and modern surveying software.
- Strong knowledge of coordinate systems, datum control, benchmarks, vertical alignment verification, and as‑built survey procedures.
- Familiarity with RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and UAE construction standards for infrastructure and utility projects.
- Ability to interpret IFC drawings, alignment data, shop drawings, profiles, cross‑sections, and construction survey requirements.
- Strong mathematical ability, problem‑solving skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Good physical fitness for fieldwork in active construction environments.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to coordinate professionally with contractors, supervision teams, engineers, inspectors, and authority representatives.
