The Land Surveyor plays a critical role in delivering accurate measurements and alignment control for infrastructure developments involving deep pipelines, shafts, and microtunneling systems. This position supports successful project execution by maintaining technical precision, validating contractor work, and ensuring all survey activities align with approved drawings and authority regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographic, control, and setting‑out surveys for stormwater drainage and infrastructure projects
- Establish, verify, and maintain control points, benchmarks, reference grids, and survey datums
- Review approved drawings, alignment data, and coordinate systems to ensure compliance with project standards
- Perform precise horizontal and vertical measurements for pipe inverts, tunnel drives, shafts, and alignment routes
- Carry out as‑built surveys and verify contractor as‑built drawings for technical accuracy
- Monitor microtunneling drive alignments and breakthrough coordinates within approved tolerances
- Maintain accurate survey field books, digital records, and project survey documentation
- Coordinate with contractors and supervision teams to resolve survey discrepancies and on‑site deviations
- Verify and certify survey results for progress reports, interim payment measurements, and executed works
- Participate in pre‑construction and progress meetings to provide technical survey input
- Ensure all field operations comply with health, safety, and project quality assurance procedures
- Calibrate and maintain Total Station, GPS, and other survey instruments
- Support testing, commissioning, and final handover by verifying completed levels and coordinates
Ideal Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of experience in surveying and setting‑out for infrastructure projects
- Strong experience in stormwater drainage, deep pipeline systems, and microtunneling works
- RTA approval and certification for Microtunneling Works is mandatory
- RTA or Dubai Municipality approval is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of RTA, DM, and DEWA standards for infrastructure and utility projects
- Experience in Dubai construction projects and UAE engineering standards is highly preferred
- Excellent mathematical accuracy and strong problem‑solving skills
- Good physical fitness and readiness for active fieldwork operations
