The Land Surveyor will carry out accurate field surveys and supervise survey work for a major metro and infrastructure program. The role contributes to project quality and construction progress by checking setting‑out, confirming levels, verifying service locations, preparing field sketches, maintaining survey records, supporting as‑built drawings, and ensuring survey activities are completed safely, accurately, and within project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, technical documents, survey requirements, and work instructions related to assigned infrastructure and roads activities.
- Supervise survey‑related field works and ensure survey tasks are completed according to project specifications and site requirements.
- Perform land surveys, field surveys, geodetic calculations, level checks, setting‑out works, and measurement activities.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project teams to confirm survey requirements and resolve site‑related survey issues.
- Check setting‑out points, levels, alignments, utilities locations, and existing services to support safe and accurate construction work.
- Ensure protection of existing services and utilities during survey and site activity.
- Prepare sketches, field notes, calculations, and supporting documents required for survey verification and fieldwork.
- Maintain complete survey records including field books, sketches, calculations, measurements, and survey data.
- Measure completed work when required and support quantity verification for project activities.
- Assist in the preparation and verification of as‑built drawings based on accurate site survey information.
- Use total station, GPS equipment, data collectors, CAD software, and survey software to support field and office survey tasks.
- Observe site safety procedures and actively participate in health and safety requirements under the direction of the Resident Engineer and project safety team.
- Communicate survey findings clearly with management, contractors, engineers, and site staff.
- Perform additional survey‑related responsibilities assigned by the project team when required.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or associate degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, roads, and utilities projects.
- Previous consultancy experience will be preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of field surveying, land surveying, setting‑out, levels, geodetic calculations, and utility coordination.
- Experience using CAD software, survey software, total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
- Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard industry work procedures will be an advantage.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to communicate clearly and logically with management, contractors, engineers, and site teams.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate survey documentation and field records.
- Commitment to safe work practices and site health and safety procedures.
- Ability to attend in‑person interviews when required.
