Land Surveyor - Utility Infrastructure in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a Civil Engineering opportunity for an experienced surveying professional with strong capability in stormwater drainage, microtunneling works, deep pipeline construction, control surveys, setting‑out activities, and tunnel alignment monitoring. This role is suited for a technically accurate surveyor who can verify coordinates, levels, pipe inverts, shaft locations, and as‑built records while ensuring compliance with RTA, DM, DEWA, and UAE infrastructure standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographic, control, and setting‑out surveys for infrastructure projects involving stormwater drainage, utilities, pipelines, and microtunneling works.
- Establish, verify, and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, reference grids, coordinate systems, and datum controls.
- Review approved drawings, alignment data, references, and project requirements before carrying out survey activities.
- Perform accurate measurements for horizontal alignments, vertical alignments, pipe inverts, tunnel drives, shaft locations, and civil work interfaces.
- Monitor microtunneling drive alignment, breakthrough coordinates, and allowable tolerances during underground construction operations.
- Conduct as‑built surveys and verify contractor as‑built drawings, field measurements, final levels, and completed work coordinates.
- Maintain updated survey records, field books, digital data files, calculation sheets, reports, and measurement documentation.
- Collaborate with contractors, supervision teams, engineers, and site personnel to resolve survey discrepancies or alignment deviations.
- Verify and certify survey results for measurement sheets, interim payments, completed works, and progress verification.
- Participate in pre‑construction meetings, progress meetings, and technical coordination sessions to provide survey status updates and required actions.
- Ensure health and safety compliance during all field operations, especially around deep excavations, shafts, tunnel works, and active utility corridors.
- Calibrate and maintain survey instruments according to project quality assurance procedures and equipment control standards.
- Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GPS, Total Station, and surveying software to process, validate, and manage survey data.
- Provide survey support during testing, commissioning, and handover stages by verifying final coordinates, levels, and as‑built information.
- Apply RTA, DM, DEWA, and UAE construction standards while performing surveys for utility and infrastructure projects in Dubai.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in surveying and setting‑out for infrastructure projects.
- Relevant university or college qualification, including minimum 3 years Diploma in Civil or Surveying discipline.
- RTA approval and certification for Microtunneling Works is mandatory.
- RTA or DM approval is mandatory.
- Strong experience in stormwater drainage, deep pipeline works, shaft construction, tunnel alignment monitoring, and microtunneling activities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GPS, Total Station, and modern surveying software.
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems, datum control, vertical alignment verification, control networks, and field measurement accuracy.
- Familiarity with RTA, DM, and DEWA standards for utility and infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of UAE construction standards and procedures, particularly in Dubai.
- Strong mathematical ability, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Good physical fitness for regular fieldwork activities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Clear communication skills for coordinating with contractors, engineers, supervision teams, and project stakeholders.
