Job summary

Dhaba in Abu Dhabi is seeking a hardworking Kitchen Steward to join our pre-opening team and keep the heart of the kitchen clean, safe and ready for service.

Reporting to the Sous Chef and Head Chef, you will wash, sanitise, store dishes and keep the kitchen equipment spotless, enabling chefs to focus on great food. This role requires basic English, reliability and flexibility in a fast-paced, multicultural setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Kitchen Steward or Dishwasher.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and chemical safety.
• Basic spoken English.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
• Team player with a can-do attitude in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitise and store all dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans.
• Operate and maintain the dishwashing machine safely and efficiently.
• Clean kitchen floors, walls, work surfaces, equipment and storage areas.
• Keep chefs supplied with clean utensils and equipment throughout service.
• Remove waste and recycling, following correct disposal procedures.
• Help receive, check and store deliveries when needed.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to instructions.
• Follow HACCP, hygiene and safety standards at all times.
• Report any equipment issues or breakages to the Sous Chef.
