Job summary

InterContinental Abu Dhabi is seeking a passionate Commis I to join the luxury culinary team. You will support the Chef de Partie and senior colleagues in preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes in a professional hotel kitchen.

Ideal candidates have prior Commis Chef experience in a hotel or resort, with basic to intermediate cooking techniques and a strong focus on quality and presentation. English communication and flexibility for shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel kitchen preferred.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Good knowledge of basic and intermediate cooking techniques.
• Strong focus on quality, consistency and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to approved recipes, portions and standards.
• Support the Chef de Partie and senior colleagues in daily kitchen operations.
• Complete mise en place accurately and ensure readiness before service.
• Maintain FIFO, rotate stocks and monitor freshness of ingredients.
• Assist with banquets, events and other culinary requirements when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and organization of the kitchen.
