Job summary

InterContinental Abu Dhabi is seeking a passionate Chef de Partie to join our Culinary team. You will support the smooth operation of your kitchen section, ensuring every dish meets our high standards of taste, presentation and consistency.

You will bring strong culinary skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to guide junior colleagues while collaborating with Sous Chef and other sections to deliver outstanding dining experiences for our guests.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie, preferably within a hotel, resort, or high-volume restaurant environment.
• Experience within a luxury or international hotel is advantageous.
• Relevant culinary qualification or professional culinary training is preferred.
• Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation techniques.
• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements.
• Attention to detail with a focus on quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Ability to organize and manage an assigned kitchen section effectively.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the daily operation of your assigned kitchen section.
• Prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes according to recipes and standards.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality and presentation of all dishes.
• Organize and prep the section before service for smooth operations.
• Supervise and support junior chefs in your section.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to junior colleagues.
• Coordinate with Sous Chef and other sections during service.
• Monitor food prep and ensure orders are completed on time.
• Check ingredient quality and ensure proper storage.
• Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards to control costs.
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
• Minimize food waste through proper prep and storage.
