Job summary

InterContinental Fujairah Resort is hiring a Commis II to support the kitchen team with basic food preparation and daily operations, following Chef de Partie and senior chefs' guidance to ensure food safety and hotel standards.

Ideal candidates will have a culinary arts qualification and some kitchen experience, with strong communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays within a luxury setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts.
• Previous kitchen or culinary experience; experience as a Chef preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen hygiene, HACCP, and food safety standards.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support the kitchen team in daily operations while maintaining quality and sanitation.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, portioning and proper storage.
• Assist with mise en place and basic food preparation according to recipes and instructions.
• Support timely service while maintaining food quality, consistency and presentation.
• Maintain proper food hygiene, HACCP, cleanliness, and sanitation standards.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and FIFO rotation of ingredients.
• Follow all hotel SOPs, health, safety, fire, and hygiene procedures.
• Keep workstations, utensils, and equipment clean, organized, and in good condition.
• Report any equipment or food safety concerns to the Chef de Partie.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
