Role Context
The Facilities Supervisor supports uninterrupted resort operations by coordinating technical maintenance teams and ensuring essential building systems remain safe, efficient and reliable. The role combines day-to-day supervision with hands‑on troubleshooting, planned preventive maintenance, system monitoring and emergency response. Strong coordination across Engineering, Operations and BMS teams helps reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability and protect the high service standards expected across a major luxury hospitality property.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise facilities technicians and allocate daily maintenance assignments according to operational priorities.
- Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance activities across HVAC, plumbing, electrical and associated systems.
- Monitor technician workload and ensure assigned tasks are completed within required timeframes.
- Lead troubleshooting and rectification of technical faults affecting building services.
- Diagnose HVAC system issues and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
- Support investigation of plumbing faults, pumps and associated water systems.
- Oversee electrical maintenance activities within the assigned facilities area.
- Coordinate with BMS teams when alarms, control issues or abnormal operating conditions are identified.
- Monitor equipment performance, alarms and key operational parameters.
- Review BMS information to identify potential system inefficiencies or developing faults.
- Work with Operations and Engineering teams to improve system performance and reliability.
- Verify that preventive and corrective maintenance activities comply with approved SOPs.
- Ensure technicians follow applicable HSE requirements during all maintenance work.
- Inspect completed work and confirm required quality standards have been achieved.
- Close completed work orders after verifying job execution and supporting documentation.
- Identify deviations, incomplete work or recurring defects and escalating them for corrective action.
- Support planned shutdowns and coordinate maintenance activities affecting critical systems.
- Respond to emergency technical incidents and assist with restoration of essential services.
- Escalate major equipment faults that require specialist intervention or management attention.
- Recommend practical system improvements where recurring failures or performance issues are identified.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment information.
- Provide on‑site guidance to technicians during complex maintenance activities.
- Train and mentor technicians to strengthen technical capability and safe working practices.
- Maintain clear shift and maintenance reports covering outstanding faults and completed activities.
- Support communication between technicians, engineering management and operational departments.
- Help maintain reliable facility systems while minimizing disruption to guests and resort operations.
Ideal Profile
- ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
- Minimum 5‑7 years of facilities maintenance experience.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of HVAC systems and associated controls.
- Experience coordinating Building Management System activities.
- Good understanding of pumps, plumbing systems and electrical services.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical faults in a busy facilities environment.
- Experience managing planned preventive maintenance activities.
- Able to read technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Strong leadership capability for supervising and developing maintenance technicians.
- Working knowledge of HSE requirements and standard operating procedures.
- Good reporting and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills for work order management and operational reporting.
- Comfortable supporting emergency response, shutdowns and critical maintenance activities.
- Experience within hotels, resorts, commercial buildings or other large facilities is advantageous.
