Job summary

Accor Dubai is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for Hotel Engineering to support electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repairs across hotel facilities. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily maintenance, inspection, and repair work across assigned hotel areas.
  • Inspect electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems for defects or abnormal operation.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests raised by guests and hotel departments.
  • Diagnose basic technical faults and determine the appropriate corrective action.
  • Repair lighting faults, electrical sockets, switches, and other basic electrical components.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs involving leaks, taps, toilets, drainage, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out daily maintenance, inspection, and repair work across assigned hotel areas.
  • Inspect electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems for defects or abnormal operation.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests raised by guests and hotel departments.
  • Diagnose basic technical faults and determine the appropriate corrective action.
  • Repair lighting faults, electrical sockets, switches, and other basic electrical components.

  • Assist with routine air-conditioning and ventilation maintenance.
  • Support troubleshooting of HVAC equipment where faults fall within assigned technical capability.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to the hotel 's planned maintenance schedule.
  • Inspect equipment and fixtures within guest rooms and address defects before they affect room readiness.
  • Maintain equipment in public areas, restaurants, kitchens, back-of-house spaces, and staff facilities.
  • Check repaired equipment after completion to confirm safe and satisfactory operation.
  • Escalate major technical failures to the Engineering Supervisor or Director of Engineering.
  • Provide clear information regarding the nature, urgency, and operational impact of significant faults.
  • Assist external contractors and specialist technicians during technical repairs, servicing, and inspections.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations and equipment breakdowns without unnecessary delay.
  • Support temporary corrective measures where immediate full repair is not possible.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance tasks, inspections, and completed repairs.
  • Update maintenance documentation so recurring issues can be tracked effectively.
  • Follow hotel health, safety, hygiene, and environmental procedures during all engineering activities.
  • Apply safe working practices when handling electrical systems, tools, ladders, mechanical equipment, and maintenance materials.
  • Keep the engineering workshop clean, organized, and free from avoidable hazards.
  • Store tools and equipment properly after completing assigned work.
  • Monitor the condition of maintenance tools and report damaged or unsafe equipment.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, front office, food and beverage, security, and other departments when repairs affect hotel operations.
  • Work cooperatively with engineering colleagues during larger repair and maintenance assignments.
  • Support shift coverage during weekends, public holidays, or changing operational requirements when scheduled.
  • Carry out additional reasonable maintenance duties assigned by engineering management.
