A hotel group in Ras al-Khaimah is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and establish robust financial systems. The role includes developing financial policies, leading budgeting and forecasting, and managing the finance team. The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and overall financial health. This role plays a critical part during the pre-opening phase by establishing robust financial systems, budgets, and controls to support a successful launch and ongoing operational excellence.
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with corporate standards and tailored to the property’s specific needs.
Set up accounting systems and software, ensuring full readiness for operational launch.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for both pre-opening and ongoing operations.
Collaborate closely with project management and other departments to monitor pre-opening costs and capital expenditures.
Train and prepare the finance team on systems, processes, and compliance requirements ahead of operations.
Manage all core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and corporate teams.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
Ensure strict compliance with local tax laws, labor regulations, and corporate policies.
Coordinate internal and external audits, and address audit findings with corrective actions.
Implement cost control measures and financial risk management strategies.
Provide insightful financial analysis and reports to support informed business decision‑making.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management within the finance department.
Act as a key ambassador for the hotel’s brand values by ensuring financial practices uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture within the finance team, aligned with the company’s commitment to creativity, respect, and innovation.
Support cross‑departmental initiatives by providing financial insights that enable smart investments in guest experience and brand growth.
Champion sustainability and responsible business practices in financial decision‑making to contribute to the hotel’s long‑term positive impact on the community and environment.
Promote continuous learning and development, encouraging the finance team to stay curious, adaptive, and aligned with evolving brand goals.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in financial management, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of Egyptian financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Proficient in accounting software and MS Office suite.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and developing teams.
