Overview
Scope and Purpose: The Finance Director (FD) is the head of the Finance function at Uganda Security Printing Company Entebbe Uganda. Sets the overall financial agenda / leadership responsible for overall delivery of the financial strategy and providing the framework for business planning budgeting reporting controls procurement and sales of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Ensures that proper systems processes and controls are in place effective and are functioning as required
- Provides stewardship and ensures integrity of financial systems accounting practices and financial reporting analysis investments and funding
- Leads and manages the preparation of the Annual Budgets and 5 year financial projections for the company in line with section 30.2 of the Joint Venture Agreement
- Provides management/oversight over expenses including capital expenditures and ensures these are in line with budgets and strategy.
- Manages the working capital of the Company including Bank/cash receivables and obligations.
- Provides leadership to the Finance team in terms of maintaining a high performing team motivation and team growth and development
- Provides leadership development and models transparency accountability responsibility and reliability
- Ensures Compliance with all regulatory and financial requirements working closely with Compliance and Risk Officer
- Supports the Managing Director directly and provides timely advice to the Board of Directors on financial and compliance matters
- Ensure a well-controlled environment for cash and bank balances.
- Manage signatories and Bank Mandates.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA CPA CFA or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles such as Finance Director CFO or Head of Finance.
- Proven track record in financial strategy budgeting financial control and compliance.
- Experience managing finance functions in regulated manufacturing or security-sensitive environments is an advantage.
- Strong command of financial reporting frameworks accounting standards and internal controls.
- Proficiency with financial systems and high level data analysis.
- Expertise in working capital management budgeting processes and financial forecasting.
- Strategic thinking combined with strong operational execution.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- High level of integrity accountability and ethical conduct.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management including at Executive and Board level.
