Job summary

AECOM is seeking a SH&E Advisor for Abu Dhabi, UAE, to assist in identifying SH&E requirements and ensuring compliance with local regulations and project needs. The role focuses on field inspections, risk assessments, and coordination with stakeholders to uphold safety standards.

The successful candidate will conduct daily contractor inspections, review safety documents, and participate in risk assessments and incident investigations while contributing to a culture of safety across projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Safety or related field, NEBOSH GC or equivalent.
• 8 years of experience in SH&E or related field.
• Proficiency in risk assessment and hazard identification techniques.
• Experience in safety management systems and audits.
• Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as field/project SH&E point of contact and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Identify project and legislative SH&E requirements and align stakeholder compliance.
• Conduct daily inspections of contractor activities and report findings.
• Coordinate SH&E meetings and chair as needed.
• Review risk assessments, Safe Work Method Statements and permit-to-work procedures.
• Ensure maintenance, calibration and operation of safety equipment.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and implement preventative measures.
• Provide regular upstream SH&E reports to project leads and senior management.
