Job summary

AECOM is seeking an SH&E Advisor in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates to assist with identifying SH&E requirements and aligning with local regulations and project needs. You will act as the field contact for SH&E matters and support compliance across contractor activities.

The role includes daily site inspections, reporting observations, leading SH&E meetings, reviewing risk assessments and method statements, and guiding risk mitigation and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering Occupational Safety or related field NEBOSH GC and/or proven equivalent.
• 10 years experience in the relevant field.
• Experience in conducting site SH&E inspections and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serving as the field/project point of contact for SH&E matters.
• Identify AECOM Project and Legislative requirements and align stakeholder compliance.
• Conduct daily inspections of contractor activities to ensure compliance with SH&E policies, plans and obligations.
• Undertake daily visual inspections, report issues and submit observation findings to the contractor via the project reporting system.
• Coordinate and attend site SH&E meetings, including chairing and recording if required.
• Submit safety inspection reports to the Resident Engineer and project leads and engage their support.
• Review risk mitigation documentation such as plans, procedures and task-specific SWMS and Risk Assessments.
• Check SH&E requirements in method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Check appropriate maintenance, calibration and operation of all safety equipment.
• Assist in the investigation of all incidents and near misses and report according to client requirements and AECOM procedures.
• Set a high personal example of Health & Safety at all times.
• Provide upstream reports regularly to the Project and SH&E Leads.
