Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Advisor Safety Health & Environment (Site Supervision) to oversee safety, health and environmental compliance across our Abu Dhabi sites. You will lead site inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations to ensure adherence to UAE regulations and global best practices.

You will develop and implement site-specific safety programs, train personnel, and maintain robust documentation while driving a culture of continuous improvement and risk awareness

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in safety health and environment roles with site supervision responsibilities.
• Proven experience conducting safety inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Strong knowledge of UAE and GCC occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and training skills with ability to engage personnel at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain safety documentation and compliance records.
• Experience with safety management systems and best practices.
• Preferred: NEBOSH IOSH or equivalent certification.
• Preferred: familiarity with ISO 4501 or similar standards.
• Preferred: experience with environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and safety violations.
• Develop, implement and monitor safety protocols and programs tailored to site operations.
• Investigate incidents, accidents and near-misses; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and awareness programs to site personnel at all levels.
• Ensure compliance with UAE occupational health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Maintain comprehensive safety documentation and reports for regulatory and internal review.
• Collaborate with site management to integrate safety into daily work activities.
• Analyze safety performance metrics and trends to identify risks and develop improvements.
• Conduct hazard assessments and risk evaluations for new projects or equipment.
• Serve as primary safety contact and escalate issues to senior management.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities and safety consultants as needed.
• Monitor proper use of PPE and safety equipment on site.
