Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates seeks an Advisor Safety, Health & Environment to lead safety programs across construction projects. You will develop and oversee policies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with UAE laws and international standards.

In this role, you will train workers and coordinate with project teams to embed safety into planning, investigations, and reporting. A NEBOSH certification and strong auditing skills are preferred for this senior position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in safety, health, and environment management within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE labor laws, safety regulations, and construction industry standards.
• Preferred NEBOSH certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures aligned with UAE regulations and international best practices.
• Conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses on construction sites to identify dangers and mitigation strategies.
• Perform site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; document findings; and implement corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and awareness programs to construction workers, supervisors, and management personnel.
• Maintain records of safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety into planning and execution phases.
• Monitor and evaluate safety program effectiveness and implement improvements.
• Serve as primary contact for safety inquiries from stakeholders.
• Stay current with UAE labor laws, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Prepare safety reports and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate with external agencies on safety compliance matters.
