Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Advisor Safety, Health & Environment to join our Abu Dhabi construction supervision team. You will develop and oversee safety, health, and environmental programs across projects, ensuring compliance with UAE labor laws and international standards.

You will lead hazard assessments, incident investigations, training, and audits, coordinating with project managers and site teams to foster a culture of safety and responsibility on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in safety, health, and environment management within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE labor laws, safety regulations, and construction industry standards.
• Proven expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
• Strong proficiency in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Preferred: NEBOSH certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures aligned with UAE regulations and international best practices.
• Conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses on construction sites and recommend mitigations.
• Perform site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate incidents, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and awareness programs to workers, supervisors, and management.
• Maintain records of safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety into planning and execution.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous improvements.
• Serve as primary point of contact for safety inquiries from stakeholders.
