GEMS International School – Dubai Hills in Dubai Hills, UAE, invites applications for a Secondary English Teacher to join the IB programme starting August 2027. We welcome experienced IB educators and teachers from British and international curricula who inspire inquiry-led learning and develop confident, curious students.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging lessons, differentiating for all learners, assessing progress with data, collaborating on curriculum, and contributing to school

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification at degree level with English specialism.
• Minimum of three years' successful experience teaching Secondary English, ideally IB MYP/DP.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a commitment to inquiry-based learning.
• Be passionate about language and literature; develop globally minded learners.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and classroom management skills.

Requirements

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification at degree level, such as a B.Ed, PGCE, State Teaching License or equivalent, with a specialism in English.
• Have a minimum of three years' successful experience teaching Secondary English, ideally including IB MYP and/or DP. Where candidates do not have IB experience, A-Level experience is preferred.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality, inquiry-based and concept-driven learning.
• Be passionate about inspiring a love of language and literature and developing confident, critical and globally minded learners.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration and classroom management skills.
