Job summary

Star Services in Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled Document Controller to manage asset documentation across seven types and ensure it is collected, verified and linked in SAP.

You will liaise with Reliability, Operations and Maintenance teams, locate documentation, validate asset codes and maintain the master spreadsheet with meticulous attention to detail. Requires steel industry background and Middle East work experience.

• 5+ years document control experience.
• Experience in the steel industry.
• Experience working in the Middle East.

Responsibilities

• Find the location of documentation associated with assets identified by the Reliability Team. Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams for drawings, manuals, spare parts, via FTP or SAP.
• Review the documentation against the asset codes.
• Verify documentation with End Users.
• Upload documentation into SAP and assign the unique SAP document number.
• Link documentation with the correct asset tags/SAP code.
• Update the master spreadsheet.

To manage all aspects of asset documentation (7 types), collection, verification, uploading and linking into SAP.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities (attributes) required

• Ability to review documentation (drawings, manuals, spare parts etc.) with great attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong I.T. skills especially Excel & SAP
• Very good written and spoken English

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(Key Accountabilities)

• To find the location of documentation associated with assets identified by the Reliability Team. Liaise with the Operations and Maintenance teams as necessary for the documentation (drawings, manuals, spare parts etc.), either on the FTP or through SAP
• Review the documentation against the asset codes
• Verification of documentation with the End Users
• Uploading of documentation into SAP, assigning the unique SAP document number etc.
• Linking of documentation with the correct asset tags/SAP code
• Updating the master spreadsheet
• To carry out any other related work as assigned by the SENIOR DOCUMENT CONTROLLER - Design Engineering.
