Overview

Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for the Hospital and Health Care sector is a senior surgical opportunity focused on breast cancer management, advanced oncoplastic surgery, immediate reconstruction, and comprehensive breast service leadership. This role is ideal for a consultant breast surgeon with strong multidisciplinary experience, refined reconstructive skills, and the ability to support high-quality patient-centered breast care within a leading healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive care for benign and malignant breast disease, including clinical assessment, diagnostic decision-making, surgical planning, and long-term follow-up.
• Perform advanced oncoplastic breast surgery using therapeutic mammoplasty, volume displacement, volume replacement, implant-based reconstruction, and autologous reconstruction techniques.
• Manage breast cancer cases with a strong focus on oncologic safety, cosmetic outcome, patient confidence, and individualized treatment planning.
• Provide consultant-level outpatient clinics, pre-operative assessment, perioperative care, post-operative review, and survivorship follow-up.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings with oncology, radiology, pathology, plastic surgery, nursing, and allied health professionals.
• Support immediate reconstruction, symmetrisation procedures, and complex breast surgery pathways in line with patient needs and clinical standards.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, pathway optimisation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Communicate diagnosis, surgical choices, treatment risks, expected outcomes, and recovery plans with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
• Train and mentor junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals involved in breast surgery and oncology care.
• Support research, innovation, service development, and expansion of advanced breast services within the healthcare facility.

Ideal Profile

• Board-certified Consultant Breast Surgeon, Oncoplastic Surgeon, or General Surgeon with relevant specialist breast surgery experience.
• Fellowship training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery.
• Minimum 7‑10 years of post-board certification experience in breast oncology and reconstruction.
• Eligibility for DHA Consultant licensure.
• Proven expertise in advanced oncoplastic techniques, immediate reconstruction, breast symmetrisation, and complex breast cancer surgery.
• Experience in accredited breast units with strong multidisciplinary team involvement.
• Strong knowledge of benign breast disease, malignant breast disease, perioperative care, reconstruction options, and long-term follow-up.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for supporting patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong commitment to clinical governance, patient safety, evidence-based practice, teaching, and continuous service improvement.
