Overview

Consultant - Breast Surgery in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a senior Hospital and Health Care opportunity for an experienced breast, oncoplastic, or general surgeon with advanced expertise in breast cancer management, reconstructive techniques, multidisciplinary care, and specialist service development. This role is designed for a consultant who can lead a comprehensive breast service, deliver high-level oncologic and oncoplastic procedures, support patient-centered surgical pathways, and contribute to research, clinical governance, mentorship, and quality improvement within a high-performing healthcare setting.

Salary: 80,000–105,000 AED (estimated range; final offer to be confirmed with the employer).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the assessment and management of benign and malignant breast disease, including clinical evaluation, diagnostic review, treatment planning, and surgical decision-making.
  • Perform advanced oncologic and oncoplastic breast surgery, including therapeutic mammoplasty, volume displacement, volume replacement, immediate reconstruction, and symmetrisation procedures.
  • Provide implant‑based and autologous reconstruction options where clinically suitable, with clear counselling on benefits, risks, recovery, and expected outcomes.
  • Manage consultant‑level outpatient clinics, perioperative planning, operative care, postoperative recovery, and long‑term patient follow‑up.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings with oncology, radiology, pathology, plastic surgery, nursing, and related specialties.
  • Build individualized surgical and treatment plans based on imaging, pathology, tumor profile, patient priorities, reconstructive needs, and international breast care standards.
  • Deliver empathetic and culturally sensitive communication to patients and families, especially when discussing diagnosis, cancer treatment pathways, reconstruction choices, and recovery expectations.
  • Support clinical governance through audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, quality monitoring, breast pathway optimisation, and adherence to approved clinical standards.
  • Contribute to service development by helping expand breast care capacity, introduce improved workflows, and strengthen advanced oncoplastic services.
  • Mentor junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals involved in breast care, surgical support, perioperative management, and patient education.
  • Participate in clinical research, innovation, case reviews, academic activity, and continuous professional development.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, consent documentation, operative reports, MDT notes, follow‑up plans, and surgical outcome records.
  • Promote patient safety, confidentiality, ethical care, and high standards of surgical practice across all stages of the breast care journey.
Ideal Profile
  • Board‑certified Consultant Breast Surgeon, Oncoplastic Surgeon, or General Surgeon with fellowship training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery.
  • Minimum 7‑10 years of post‑board certification experience in breast oncology, reconstruction, and consultant‑level surgical practice.
  • Eligibility for DHA Consultant licensure.
  • Proven expertise in advanced oncoplastic breast techniques, including therapeutic mammoplasty, volume displacement, volume replacement, immediate reconstruction, and symmetrisation.
  • Experience managing breast cancer cases within accredited breast units or advanced multidisciplinary breast services.
  • Strong background in breast diagnostic pathways, surgical oncology, reconstructive planning, perioperative care, and long‑term surveillance.
  • Active involvement in MDT discussions with oncology, radiology, pathology, plastic surgery, nursing, and allied healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to support diverse patient populations with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Strong commitment to clinical governance, audit participation, research, service expansion, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to mentor junior clinical staff while maintaining high surgical standards and patient‑centered care.
