Allocation Assist Middle East is seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist for a position in Saudi Arabia. You will diagnose and manage gastrointestinal disorders and perform advanced endoscopic procedures in a modern clinical setting.

The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of experience in gastroenterology and endoscopy, along with strong skills in patient assessment and endoscopic techniques.

Position Overview

The selected consultant will work in Saudi Arabia, providing expert diagnosis and treatment for gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders while performing advanced endoscopic procedures within a modern multidisciplinary clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients with gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, biliary, and digestive system conditions.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders using clinical evaluation, investigations, and evidence‑based treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, and ERCP where applicable.
• Interpret imaging reports, laboratory results, endoscopic findings, pathology reports, and clinical data to support accurate decision‑making.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology consultations for acute, chronic, and complex digestive health cases.
• Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, dietitians, nurses, and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in on‑call duties and urgent gastroenterology consultations as required by the department.
• Educate patients on disease prevention, medication use, lifestyle changes, dietary guidance, procedure preparation, and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate medical records, procedure notes, consent documentation, endoscopy reports, and follow‑up plans in line with Saudi healthcare regulations.
• Contribute to quality improvement, clinical audits, patient safety initiatives, and departmental service development.
• Support training and mentorship of junior doctors, residents, nurses, and allied health staff.
• Stay updated with advancements in gastroenterology, endoscopy techniques, and digestive disease management.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Gastroenterology.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑qualification experience in gastroenterology and endoscopy.
• Strong proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
• Must hold or be eligible for Saudi Commission for Health Specialties licensing.
• Experience managing gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders in a reputable hospital or clinical setting.
• Strong clinical judgment in interpreting imaging, laboratory results, and endoscopic findings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient counselling and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast‑paced clinical environment.
