Job summary

Parsons Corporation in Dubai seeks a Civil Engineer - Utility Infrastructure with a minimum of 5 years of experience to design and coordinateUtility corridors and related civil infrastructure. Qualifications

Role Context

The engineer will determine practical and economical solutions for utility infrastructure challenges while supporting coordinated project delivery. Working across engineering disciplines, the role will address existing and proposed utility networks, corridor layouts, cross-sections, authority requirements, and constructability considerations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs for utility corridors and associated civil infrastructure.
  • Prepare utility master plans, coordinated cross-sections, technical notes, and design documentation.
  • Assess conflicts involving existing and proposed services and develop technically viable alternatives.
  • Coordinate utility designs with roads, drainage, structures, landscaping, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Apply Dubai authority regulations and relevant technical standards throughout the design process.
  • Create engineering design models using Civil 3D or comparable civil infrastructure software.
  • Review plans and profiles for technical compliance, constructability, accuracy, and design clarity.
  • Prepare presentations and technical reports explaining proposals to clients, authorities, and management.
  • Provide clear engineering input to BIM and CAD designers assigned to the project.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles when developing and evaluating complex analytical models.
  • Check calculations, drawings, and other deliverables prepared by engineers with similar or less experience.
  • Create reusable workflows and templates that improve consistency and design efficiency.
  • Monitor assigned activities against the baseline schedule and promptly identify potential delays.
  • Support related engineering activities and contribute to the achievement of project deadlines.
Ideal Profile

The preferred candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline and possess at least five years of relevant professional experience. A strong understanding of utility corridor planning, infrastructure interfaces, engineering drawings, and multidisciplinary coordination is essential. Applicants should be familiar with local authority regulations and established quality assurance and quality control procedures. An Engineer in Training certificate will be advantageous. The position also requires clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical solutions to different project stakeholders.
