Job summary

BIM CAD Technician - Infrastructure Design in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a Civil Engineering opportunity supporting multidisciplinary BIM and CAD delivery across utilities, wet utilities, roads, drainage, structures, and civil MEP interfaces. Parsons Corporation is hiring experienced mid-level and senior BIM CAD professionals to develop coordinated engineering drawings and models, manage digital design information, perform clash detection, and support accurate infrastructure project delivery from initial setup through completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with BIM Leads, Design Leads, and engineers to implement approved project standards, workflows, and digital delivery requirements.
• Prepare engineering drawings from sketches, markups, design data, and discipline-specific technical information.
• Develop general arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and component details.
• Support BIM and CAD production across utilities and wet utilities.
• Produce coordinated drawings for roads and associated infrastructure.
• Assist with structural drafting for culverts, retaining walls, and other minor civil structures.
• Support MEP coordination where building services interface with civil infrastructure.
• Prepare and update drainage system drawings and models.
• Maintain BIM activities from project startup through design development and final delivery.
• Apply project BIM requirements consistently across assigned disciplines.
• Review drawings for readability, presentation, technical accuracy, and compliance with established standards.
• Follow company QA/QC procedures before drawings and models are issued.
• Incorporate review comments and maintain accurate revision control.
• Create parametric and non-parametric families for infrastructure model requirements.
• Develop reusable BIM content with suitable geometry, parameters, and naming conventions.
• Apply Level of Development requirements appropriate to each project stage.
• Maintain model information in line with agreed LOD expectations.
• Use Autodesk Navisworks to review multidisciplinary federated models.
• Perform clash detection between utilities, roads, structures, drainage systems, wet utilities, and MEP elements.
• Produce clash reports and support coordination teams in resolving identified conflicts.
• Update models following approved coordination decisions.
• Generate schedules and quantity information from BIM models.
• Check extracted data for completeness and consistency before issue.
• Use MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D, and AutoCAD for infrastructure drawing production.
• Coordinate models and drawings across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Maintain alignment between BIM models, CAD drawings, schedules, and quantity outputs.
• Support controlled design information exchange through ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Follow Common Data Environment procedures for document status, naming, revisions, and collaboration.
• Assist with drawing and model updates resulting from engineering reviews or project coordination meetings.
• Complete assigned design and drafting packages within agreed schedules and quality requirements.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a diploma or Bachelor 's degree in Engineering. Applicants should have at least 4 years of relevant CAD drafting and BIM experience for mid-level positions, with senior candidates expected to bring up to 10 years of experience. Prior Middle East or UAE project experience is preferred. Candidates should have practical experience in one or more infrastructure disciplines including utilities, wet utilities, roads, drainage, structures, or MEP coordination within civil works. Experience with culverts, retaining walls, minor structures, road infrastructure, and underground utility networks will be valuable. Strong working knowledge of MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D, and AutoCAD is required. Applicants should understand BIM processes, model coordination, digital information management, and Level of Development requirements. Experience using Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination is advantageous. Candidates familiar with ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud will be well suited to project Common Data Environment requirements. Applicants should be able to interpret engineering sketches, drawings, technical inputs, and design standards accurately. Excellent written and spoken English is required for coordination with multidisciplinary project teams.
