Role Context

The BIM CAD Technician will support stormwater drainage and wet utility design by converting engineering information into coordinated digital models and technical drawings.The position contributes throughout the project lifecycle, from initial BIM setup and design development through clash coordination, quantity extraction, drawing production, and final documentation.Accurate modeling and disciplined information management will help engineering teams identify conflicts early, improve constructability, and maintain consistency across infrastructure design packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Support BIM Leads, Design Leads, and engineers in preparing stormwater drainage and wet utility deliverables.
• Develop engineering drawings from sketches, calculations, design concepts, and technical information.
• Produce layouts, arrangements, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and component details.
• Prepare coordinated drainage and utility drawings using established project standards.
• Manage assigned BIM activities from project startup through completion.
• Maintain model structure and project information in accordance with approved BIM processes.
• Review drawings for readability, technical presentation, completeness, and compliance with drafting standards.
• Perform drawing checks in accordance with project QA-QC procedures.
• Create parametric and non-parametric BIM content for project-specific requirements.
• Apply appropriate Level of Development requirements throughout design stages.
• Coordinate models and drawings with civil, structural, utility, and other engineering disciplines.
• Use Navisworks to identify design conflicts and support multidisciplinary clash resolution.
• Produce clash reports and update affected model elements after coordination reviews.
• Generate model-based schedules when required.
• Extract quantities from BIM models to support engineering and project requirements.
• Maintain alignment between drawings, models, schedules, and extracted quantities.
• Incorporate engineering revisions and review comments accurately into design documentation.
• Use MicroStation, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD to prepare and revise infrastructure drawings.
• Maintain controlled project information within approved Common Data Environment workflows.
• Use ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud for document and model coordination where required.
• Support timely completion of drawing packages and BIM deliverables in accordance with project milestones.
• Assist with resolving technical drafting or modeling issues that could affect design coordination or delivery.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a diploma or bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering and have practical experience delivering CAD and BIM documentation for wet utility infrastructure.

• Minimum 5 years of CAD drafting experience in the MEA or UAE region.
• Demonstrated experience working on wet utility projects.
• Stormwater drainage drafting or modeling experience is strongly relevant.
• Proficiency in MicroStation.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of BIM processes and digital model development.
• Strong knowledge of Level of Development requirements.
• Ability to create parametric and non-parametric BIM content.
• Experience reviewing drawings for technical quality and presentation.
• Knowledge of clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Navisworks experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with model-based scheduling and quantity extraction.
• Experience with ProjectWise is preferred.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
