Job Overview
Parsons Corporation is looking for an experienced BIM CAD Technician to support MEP design documentation, model coordination, clash detection, quantity extraction, and drawing production for infrastructure and transportation‑related projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the BIM Lead and Design Leads to support compliance with project BIM policies, CAD standards, workflows, and delivery processes.
- Develop MEP engineering drawings including arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and component details.
- Prepare drawings from rough sketches, engineering inputs, design information, and established project standards.
- Support timely completion and implementation of BIM and CAD deliverables across assigned MEP work packages.
- Manage BIM‑related activities from project start‑up through design development, coordination, and completion.
- Review drawings for readability, presentation quality, discipline coordination, and adherence to company QA/QC procedures.
- Create parametric and non‑parametric Revit families and support content development for MEP project requirements.
- Apply LOD requirements and BIM processes accurately during model development and drawing production.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve model development issues, drawing conflicts, and design coordination requirements.
- Use Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection, coordination review, and preparation of clash reports.
- Support scheduling, quantity extraction, and model‑based information outputs from BIM models.
- Maintain coordination with engineers, designers, and project teams to ensure MEP drawings reflect approved technical intent.
- Work within common data environments such as ProjectWise and BIM360 to manage project files and submissions.
- Perform additional BIM, CAD, and MEP drafting responsibilities as required by the project team.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of GCC experience in BIM and CAD drafting for MEP projects.
- Experience in pump stations, gas networks, HVAC systems, metro stations, substations, MCC rooms, or similar MEP infrastructure environments.
- Strong software experience in Civil3D, Revit, and MicroStation.
- Experience using ProjectWise and BIM360 as common data environments.
- Good knowledge of BIM processes, LOD requirements, model coordination, and drawing production standards.
- Strong knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks, clash detection workflows, and clash report preparation.
- Ability to create BIM content including parametric and non‑parametric families.
- Ability to produce schedules and quantity extractions from BIM models.
- Good understanding of MEP systems, drafting standards, coordination procedures, and QA/QC review requirements.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and coordinate effectively with engineers, BIM leads, design leads, and other disciplines.
- Detail‑oriented approach with the ability to deliver accurate drawings and models within project deadlines.
