Job summary

Parsons is seeking a BIM CAD Technician for dry utility networks in Dubai. You will develop BIM and CAD deliverables for MV/LV power systems, lighting networks, telecom and security infrastructure, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.

You will translate engineering inputs into construction-ready drawings, maintain model integrity, and support QA/QC while working with Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD in a fast-paced infrastructure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of CAD drafting experience on infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience producing BIM and CAD documentation for dry utility networks and related civil infrastructure.

Role Context

The BIM CAD Technician will support the digital delivery of infrastructure and dry utility systems by converting engineering inputs into coordinated models and construction-ready drawings. The role requires close collaboration with BIM managers, CAD managers, design leads, and engineers to ensure that electrical and communications networks are represented accurately, interfaces are resolved early, and project information remains consistent with applicable standards and authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop BIM and CAD deliverables for dry utility infrastructure including MV and LV power distribution systems.
• Prepare drawings for external and internal lighting networks.
• Produce coordinated documentation for telecom and security infrastructure.
• Support digital design requirements associated with pump stations, bridges, tunnels, and related civil infrastructure.
• Work with CAD Managers, BIM Managers, Design Leads, and engineers to complete assigned deliverables within project schedules.
• Translate engineering sketches, calculations, and design information into accurate technical drawings.
• Produce layouts, arrangements, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and component details.
• Apply established project drafting standards and BIM procedures to all issued documentation.
• Review drawings for readability, presentation quality, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Perform drawing checks in accordance with applicable QA-QC processes.
• Build parametric and non-parametric BIM content required for project models.
• Maintain consistency between drawings, models, and design information.
• Coordinate dry utility models with civil, structural, wet utility, architectural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Identify spatial and design coordination issues and support their resolution before construction.
• Use Civil 3D and Revit to develop and update infrastructure and utility models.
• Apply Navisworks for multidisciplinary model review and coordination.
• Prepare and revise drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Maintain project information through approved Common Data Environment workflows.
• Use ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud related platforms for controlled document and model management.
• Support compliance with local electricity and infrastructure authority requirements where applicable.
• Incorporate DEWA, SEWA, Etihad WE, and Dubai Municipality requirements into drawings and models when relevant to the project scope.
• Implement design revisions accurately following engineering comments and coordination decisions.
• Maintain organized digital files, model versions, references, and drawing records.
• Support timely issue of design packages at required project milestones.

Ideal Profile

• Candidates should hold a bachelor 's degree in Engineering and have strong experience producing BIM and CAD documentation for infrastructure and dry utility networks.
• Minimum 5 years of CAD drafting experience.
• Demonstrated experience on infrastructure and dry utility projects.
• Practical exposure to MV power distribution systems.
• Experience with LV power distribution networks.
• Knowledge of lighting infrastructure design documentation.
• Experience preparing telecom and security network drawings.
• Exposure to pump station, bridge, or tunnel infrastructure is valuable.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Working capability in Revit.
• Experience using Navisworks for design coordination.
