Role Context The BIM CAD Technician - Dry Utilities will support infrastructure design teams in producing accurate drawings and coordinated BIM information for electrical utility systems. The role covers lighting networks, MV and LV power distribution, pumping station interfaces, and related infrastructure services where precision, coordination, and adherence to authority standards are essential. Working with CAD and BIM Managers, Design Leads, and Engineers, the technician will convert sketches, engineering inputs, and design information into structured technical deliverables. The position also supports model coordination and content development, helping reduce design conflicts and maintain consistent information across multidisciplinary infrastructure packages.
Candidates should hold a three-year Diploma, preferably with required equivalency, or an Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related drafting discipline. A minimum of 5 years of CAD drafting experience is required, specifically within infrastructure and dry utilities projects. Relevant project exposure should include:
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks is required. Candidates should also be comfortable working within Common Data Environment platforms such as ProjectWise and Autodesk Forma.
Knowledge of UAE electricity and infrastructure authority requirements is highly desirable, particularly standards associated with DEWA, SEWA, Etihad WE, and Dubai Municipality.
Clear English communication skills are required for effective coordination with technical and multidisciplinary project teams.
