Job summary

Kapitol, part of Sunset Hospitality Group, seeks an experienced Bar Supervisor to join the pre-opening team. You will support the Bar Manager in daily operations, lead a diverse team and ensure beverage quality and hygiene standards in a vibrant lifestyle venue.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of bar experience in fast-paced settings, strong cocktail knowledge, and confident leadership skills to manage VIPs and busy periods.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant bar experience, including supervisory roles.
• Experience in a high-volume restaurant/bar or entertainment-led venue.
• Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wines and beers.
• Proven ability to supervise and train a multicultural bar team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily bar operations and ensure efficient service throughout each shift.
• Conduct pre-service briefings and allocate stations and responsibilities.
• Ensure beverages are prepared according to approved recipes and brand standards.
• Lead, train and support Bartenders, Barbacks and other bar employees.
• Maintain complete bar mise en place and ensure stations are fully prepared before service.
• Monitor stock levels, product rotation, expiry dates, wastage and breakages.
• Assist with inventory counts, requisitions, ordering and stock control.
• Support the Bar Manager with beverage-cost and wastage-control initiatives.
• Drive revenue through beverage recommendations, upselling and promotions.
• Coordinate with the Restaurant, Kitchen and Entertainment teams during operations.
• Take responsibility for bar operations in the absence of the Bar Manager.

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant bar experience, including experience as a Bar Supervisor, Head Bartender or strong Senior Bartender.
• Previous experience within a high-volume restaurant, bar, nightlife, entertainment or lifestyle venue.
• Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wines and beers.
• Proven experience supervising and training a multicultural bar team.
• Good understanding of stock control, inventory, beverage costing and wastage management.
• Confident handling VIPs, busy service periods and guest complaints.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
