Overview
Position is a site‑based role for an experienced inspection professional who monitors building construction activities, verifies contractor compliance, maintains accurate site records, and ensures architectural works are delivered according to approved drawings, specifications, contract documents, quality procedures, and health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, health and safety requirements, and approved project updates.
- Inspect architectural works on‑site to verify compliance with approved drawings, codes, specifications, quality requirements, and contract documents.
- Observe contractor activities, take measurements, review testing requirements, and track quality assurance progress across assigned work areas.
- Maintain daily records of contractor manpower, equipment, materials delivered, activities observed, work locations, and construction methods used.
- Carry out site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Document contractor personnel, equipment, progress, work activities, site conditions, and reasons for specific construction activities in assigned areas.
- Follow and implement site instructions issued by project leadership and ensure related actions are properly tracked.
- Apply quality controls and quality procedures across assigned site inspection activities.
- Prepare site measurements, surveying checks, and inspection information needed by the project leadership team.
- Monitor conformance with quality, performance, and code requirements through regular inspection duties.
- Report construction observations, quality issues, material concerns, progress updates, and non‑compliance matters clearly and accurately.
- Monitor health and safety conditions during construction works and report violations or unsafe practices immediately.
- Assist with material delivery tracking and confirm that materials used on‑site align with project requirements.
- Support the inspection of completed works and help verify that architectural activities are ready for approval, closure, or further construction stages.
- Maintain organized inspection records, daily logs, measurement notes, testing information, and supporting site documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and site teams to support compliance, quality improvement, and timely completion of assigned works.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant technical discipline.
- 5-7 years of experience in building construction, architectural inspection, or site supervision.
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings, specifications, contract documents, inspection procedures, and construction quality requirements.
- Practical experience observing site activities, recording manpower and equipment, checking workmanship, and monitoring contractor compliance.
- Ability to perform measurements, support surveying checks, and review construction activities against approved project requirements.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures, quality assurance tracking, inspection records, and site documentation.
- Good awareness of health and safety practices on active construction sites.
- Able to follow instructions from Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, and project leadership while working independently in assigned areas.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality issues, site deviations, and safety concerns early.
- Good communication skills for reporting observations, coordinating with contractors, and supporting inspection teams.
- Organized and reliable, with disciplined daily recordkeeping and a practical approach to site supervision.
