Job Context
The Architectural Inspector - Site Supervision will ensure architectural construction activities are completed in line with approved contract documents, drawings, specifications, quality controls, and health and safety measures. The role supports the Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer by carrying out inspections, recording site activity, checking contractor resources, reporting material deliveries, and identifying quality or safety concerns. The selected candidate will contribute to better construction control, reliable documentation, and timely correction of site issues on building projects in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Review package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, project updates, and health and safety requirements before and during site inspections.
- Inspect architectural works to confirm compliance with approved drawings, contract standards, specifications, codes, and site quality procedures.
- Monitor contractor activities through site observation, measurements, testing support, and quality assurance tracking.
- Maintain daily records of contractor manpower, equipment, material deliveries, construction activities, work locations, and methods used on site.
- Undertake site supervision and inspection duties as instructed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Document contractor personnel, equipment, activities observed, reasons for work, work locations, and execution methods in assigned inspection areas.
- Follow up on site instructions issued by project leadership and confirm that required actions are properly implemented.
- Apply project quality controls and site quality procedures during inspection, documentation, measurement, and reporting activities.
- Prepare site measurements and surveying checks required by the supervision team for work verification.
- Monitor conformance with quality, performance, code, and specification requirements through regular inspection duties.
- Report material delivery updates, quality observations, construction deviations, and compliance concerns to the relevant project team members.
- Monitor health and safety conditions during construction works and report violations, unsafe practices, or risks that may affect site operations.
- Support inspection of completed architectural works and assist in confirming readiness for approval or next-stage construction.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and site supervision staff to support smooth inspection flow and timely issue resolution.
- Maintain organized daily logs, measurement records, inspection notes, testing information, and supporting construction documentation.
- Assist in identifying repeated workmanship concerns, quality gaps, and site non‑compliance items requiring corrective action.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant technical field.
- 5‑7 years of experience in building construction, architectural inspection, site supervision, or construction quality monitoring.
- Strong understanding of contract drawings, specifications, construction documents, inspection requirements, and site quality controls.
- Practical ability to observe contractor activities, check materials, record manpower and equipment, and verify work against approved documents.
- Experience preparing site measurements, supporting surveying checks, and maintaining accurate inspection records.
- Good awareness of construction health and safety requirements and the ability to report unsafe site practices.
- Ability to follow instructions from Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, and project supervision leaders.
- Detail‑focused approach to checking workmanship, progress, documentation, compliance, and construction activities.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with contractors, engineers, and site teams.
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a busy on‑site building construction environment.
