Role Context
The Architectural Inspector - Quality will support the successful delivery of building projects by inspecting architectural installations, monitoring workmanship, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure that contractors meet approved quality and contract requirements. The role is important for identifying site issues early, reducing rework, supporting approvals, tracking inspection outcomes, and keeping architectural works aligned with the project design intent. The selected candidate will work closely with the Senior Architectural Engineer, inspection teams, contractors, and site management to maintain quality, progress, and compliance on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect architectural works on-site to verify compliance with approved drawings, inspection plans, codes, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Monitor architectural finishes, building components, installations, placement, location, workmanship, and quality standards during construction activities.
- Liaise with the Senior Architectural Engineer, engineers, managers, contractors, and inspection teams to provide support and resolve site-related architectural issues.
- Review contractor documents, shop drawings, submittals, and technical information to identify issues that may affect the stability, function, quality, or compliance of architectural systems.
- Monitor contractor compliance with the approved Quality Control Plan and project-related inspection protocols.
- Perform architectural inspections, material inspections, and evaluation of tests required to confirm quality requirements.
- Check that execution and inspection activities are carried out according to approved inspection plans, drawings, codes, specifications, and method statements.
- Issue non-conformance reports to contractors when required and assist with corrective action follow-up until closure.
- Review and monitor variations to architectural works to help reduce time, cost, and quality impacts caused by required changes.
- Provide regular reports on architectural progress, quality observations, inspection findings, and site concerns.
- Maintain full site records, including daily site diaries, formal monthly progress photography, inspection reports, submittal records, tests performed, and work executed.
- Assist with expediting NOCs and client approvals when delays may affect project progress.
- Liaise with contractor management teams to support timely submissions, approvals, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the site team to ensure contractual obligations for architectural works are properly met.
- Inspect completed works and assist with verification before handover, close-out, or further construction stages.
- Monitor safety aspects related to architectural installations and report HSE-related matters as required.
- Participate in HSE training, safety meetings, site walks, and related project safety activities.
- Work in accordance with contract administration procedures and perform additional duties assigned by the direct manager.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma or degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Practical experience in architectural inspection, site supervision, quality control, or building construction works.
- Strong understanding of architectural finishes, building components, inspection procedures, shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Ability to identify workmanship defects, non-conformance issues, site coordination gaps, and construction quality risks.
- Familiarity with inspection test plans, quality control plans, material inspections, site records, and contract administration procedures.
- Able to read architectural drawings, technical documents, approved submittals, and project specifications with accuracy.
- Good coordination skills for working with contractors, engineers, inspection teams, project managers, and client representatives.
- Strong documentation habits with the ability to prepare daily logs, inspection reports, progress records, NCRs, and photographic reports.
- Awareness of HSE requirements related to architectural installations and active construction sites.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of supporting multiple inspection activities in a fast-paced on-site environment.
- Experience on building projects within the UAE or wider Middle East construction market will be an advantage.
