Overview
Architectural Inspector - Construction Quality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a practical Architecture and Planning role for an experienced site inspector who can supervise building works, verify contractor compliance, check architectural finishes, and maintain accurate inspection records in line with approved drawings, specifications, quality procedures, codes, and health and safety requirements. This opportunity is suitable for a construction-focused professional with strong site observation skills and proven experience supporting Resident Engineers and Assistant Resident Engineers on building projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, project updates, and health and safety requirements.
- Inspect architectural works on-site to confirm compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, contract requirements, and quality procedures.
- Monitor contractor activities through observation, measurement, inspection, testing coordination, and review of quality assurance progress.
- Maintain daily records of contractor manpower, equipment, materials delivered, work locations, construction activities, and methods used.
- Carry out site supervision and inspection duties when instructed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Document assigned work areas clearly, including contractor personnel, plant, equipment, activities observed, reasons for work, and execution methods.
- Report material delivery status, construction progress, site observations, quality concerns, and compliance issues to the project supervision team.
- Follow up on site instructions issued by project leadership and support proper implementation of required actions.
- Apply site quality controls and quality procedures across assigned inspection activities.
- Prepare site measurements and surveying checks required by the Resident Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, or project leadership team.
- Monitor conformance with quality, performance, code, and specification requirements through regular inspection duties.
- Identify workmanship issues, construction deviations, material concerns, and repeated quality problems that may require corrective action.
- Monitor health and safety conditions during construction works and report violations, unsafe practices, or potential site risks.
- Support inspection of completed works and assist in confirming readiness for approval, closure, or next-stage construction.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, site teams, and supervision staff to support timely inspections and smooth issue resolution.
- Maintain organized inspection records, site logs, measurement notes, testing information, and supporting construction documentation.
Ideal Profile / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant technical discipline.
- 5-7 years of experience in building construction, architectural inspection, site supervision, or construction quality monitoring.
- Good understanding of architectural drawings, specifications, contract documents, quality control procedures, and site inspection methods.
- Practical experience tracking contractor manpower, equipment, materials, site activities, and inspection progress.
- Ability to perform site measurements, support surveying checks, and verify work against approved project documentation.
- Familiarity with quality assurance progress tracking, daily logs, inspection reports, and construction documentation.
- Good awareness of health and safety requirements on active construction sites.
- Able to follow instructions from Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, and project supervision leaders.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing workmanship, materials, measurements, compliance, and site records.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with contractors, engineers, and construction teams.
- Reliable, organized, and able to maintain accurate site records in a busy on-site environment.
