Overview

Architectural Inspector - Building Construction in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A full‑time role that supports the delivery of building and architectural projects by ensuring site works are completed according to contract documents, approved drawings, specifications, quality procedures, code requirements, and health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and understand package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, health and safety requirements, and related project updates.
  • Ensure contractor works comply with contract documents, approved drawings, specifications, standards and code requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections through observation, measurements, testing support, and quality assurance tracking.
  • Undertake site supervision and inspection activities when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
  • Document contractor manpower, equipment, personnel, construction activities, activity locations, work reasons, and methods used on site.
  • Maintain daily records of contractor resources, progress, materials delivery, inspections, site observations, and quality‑related activities.
  • Report material deliveries, work progress, site issues, and inspection findings to the assigned project leader.
  • Follow up and implement site instructions issued by the project leader, Resident Engineer, or Assistant Resident Engineer.
  • Apply quality control and quality assurance procedures across assigned site areas.
  • Monitor conformance to quality, performance, contract, and code requirements through inspection duties.
  • Prepare site measurements and surveying checks required by the project leader for building and architectural works.
  • Support verification of completed works by checking dimensions, alignment, levels, finish quality, and installation compliance.
  • Identify discrepancies, poor workmanship, quality concerns, unsafe practices, or deviations from approved documents.
  • Coordinate with contractors and site teams to support timely correction of identified issues.
  • Monitor health and safety conditions during construction activities and report violations through the correct project channels.
  • Support project documentation by maintaining accurate inspection notes, site records, reports, and quality evidence.
  • Assist with coordination between architectural works and other construction disciplines when required.
  • Help ensure that works are ready for inspection, testing, approval, and handover stages.
  • Maintain professional communication with engineers, contractors, supervisors, and project stakeholders.
  • Perform all assigned inspection and documentation duties in line with project procedures and AECOM quality expectations.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architecture or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in building construction, architectural inspection, or site supervision.
  • Experience working on building construction projects with architectural works, finishes, and site quality checks.
  • Good understanding of contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, construction standards, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to observe, measure, document, and report contractor activities accurately.
  • Practical knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, site records, inspection reports, and construction documentation.
  • Ability to support site measurements, surveying checks, and field verification activities.
  • Good awareness of health and safety requirements in active building construction environments.
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing workmanship, materials, construction methods, and site progress.
  • Ability to follow instructions from Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, and project leaders.
  • Good communication skills for daily coordination with contractors, engineers, and site teams.
  • Organized and reliable approach to documentation, reporting, and inspection follow‑up.
