Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a local Gauteng organization to recruit a Child and Youth Support Worker in Tembisa. The role blends on-site engagement with remote coordination, focusing on nurturing resilience and healthy development for young people.

You will mentor youth, help design individual support plans, lead life-skills activities, and collaborate with families, schools, and services to deliver holistic care while maintaining confidential records and safeguarding all participants.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Social Work, Youth Development, Education, or related field.
• Experience with children and youth in support or care settings.
• Knowledge of child protection policies and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and mentoring to children and youth in the community.
• Develop and implement individual support plans tailored to each young person.
• Facilitate group activities and educational programs to promote life skills and well-being.
• Collaborate with families, schools, and community services for holistic support.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records of client interactions and progress.
• Identify risks and apply safeguarding procedures to protect youth.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development.
• Communicate progress and concerns to supervisors and colleagues.
