Placements24 in Gauteng invites a skilled Social Worker to support youth in the Tembisa community. The role focuses on psychosocial assessments, intervention planning, counseling, and collaboration with schools and community partners to build networks of support.

You will maintain confidential case files, ensure ethical practice, and contribute to crisis intervention, reporting, and youth development programs designed to enhance resilience and well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work and SACSSP registration.
• Minimum 3 years' post-qualification youth social care experience.
• Experience in counseling, case management and advocacy.
• Knowledge of child development, adolescent psychology and relevant legislation.
• Excellent interpersonal and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and manage challenging behaviors.
• Proficiency with case management software and standard office apps.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of young individuals and their families.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and support plans.
• Provide counseling and therapeutic services to youth experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social difficulties.
• Facilitate group sessions and workshops focused on life skills, resilience, and healthy relationships.
• Collaborate with schools, community centers, and other relevant organizations to create a supportive network for youth.
• Connect youth and families with essential community resources and services.
• Maintain detailed and confidential case files, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Engage in crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies.
• Participate in case conferences and contribute to team-based decision-making.
