Placements24 is seeking a Youth Engagement Facilitator to join our Community & Social Care team in Tembisa. The role focuses on delivering life skills, career exploration, and personal development programs for local youth, with on-site presence to maximize impact.

You will design and lead workshops, mentor participants, and collaborate with schools and community groups to expand reach while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment and staying current with youth development practices.

Qualifications

• Qualification in social work, youth development, education, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience in facilitating youth programs or working with adolescents in a social care setting.
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and challenges facing youth.
• Excellent group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Local knowledge of Tembisa and its community resources advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Design, plan, and deliver engaging workshops and activities for youth focusing on life skills, career exploration, and personal development.
• Facilitate group discussions and provide one-on-one mentoring to youth participants.
• Assess needs of young people and connect them with community resources and support services.
• Build positive relationships with youth, fostering trust, respect, and empowerment.
• Collaborate with local schools, community organizations, and parents to extend program reach.
• Monitor participant progress, document engagement, and report to management.
• Assist in organizing community events and outreach initiatives.
• Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Stay updated on trends and best practices in youth development and social care.
• Act as a positive role model and advocate for youth in the Tembisa community.
