Job summary

Wine Estate in the Somerset West area is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Tasting Room Wine Tutor to assist on a casual basis. The successful candidate will share enthusiasm for wine through informative tastings and personalised guest service.

Duties include welcoming guests, presenting tutored tastings, explaining wine styles and production methods, preparing stations, and maintaining stock while following responsible alcohol-service procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in wine tasting or hospitality required.
• Strong knowledge of wines and confident in presenting.
• Passion for wine and guest service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Professional and friendly presentation.
• Basic computer and POS skills.
• Availability for casual shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and present tutored wine tastings.
• Explain wine styles, grape varieties and production methods.
• Prepare tasting stations and serve wines correctly.
• Recommend wines and promote sales.
• Process purchases and assist with order enquiries.
• Maintain stock records and replenish tasting supplies.
• Apply portion controls and minimise waste.
• Keep the tasting area neat and follow responsible alcohol-service procedures.
