Job description

The Wine Lounge is looking for a Wine Tutor on a fixed term contract to provide excellent service to ensure great guest satisfaction. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role.

Main responsibilities:

• Setting up tasting area

• Presenting tutored wine tastings

• Cellar tours

• Ensure presentation, quality and temperature of all drinks are correct.

• Processing wine orders through Capreo, Cape Ardor and Aspiring Logistics.

• Ensure that there is enough stock and equipment, stock collection and re-stocking.

• Ensure a minimum loss through breakage, waste, theft and incorrect orders and capturing any losses.

• Strict tasting and portion control

• Daily stock-take of wine and beverages and completing stock movement sheets

• Promoting and processing sales

• Adhere strictly to the provisions and regulations as contained in the Liquor Act (No. 59 of 2003) and other regulations as may be applicable to the sale of alcoholic beverages.

Main requirements:

• Grade 12

• Own transport/Reliable transport

• Preferably 1- 2 years wine tutor experience

• In depth knowledge of wines and being able to communicate and explain this to guests

• Passionate about wine and the hospitality industry

• Excellent interpersonal- & communication skills

• Strong customer service orientation

• Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele

• Must be well-presented

• Willing to work flexible hours and be able to work under pressure

• Enthusiastic personality
