Job summary

Wild Dreams Hospitality in Stellenbosch is seeking a patient, personable wine tutor to turn a tasting into a memorable guest experience in an elegant lounge. You will host discerning visitors, stay composed under pressure, and maintain stock and service standards.

You will set up tastings, present tutored tastings to guests, ensure drink quality and temperature, manage orders, stock, and compliance with Liquor Act, and promote wines while driving sales.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12.
• 1-2 years’ experience as a wine tutor preferred.
• Own or reliable transport.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Confident engaging with high-end, distinguished clientele.
• Well-presented, with an enthusiastic personality.
• Genuine passion for wine and hospitality.
• Flexible with working hours and able to perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Set up the tasting area ahead of service.
• Present tutored wine tastings to guests.
• Ensure presentation, quality and serving temperature of all drinks meet standard.
• Process wine orders through relevant ordering and logistics platforms. Maintain stock and equipment levels.
• Minimise losses from breakage, waste, theft and incorrect orders; record any that occur.
• Apply strict tasting and portion control.
• Complete daily wine/beverage stock-takes and stock movement sheets.
• Promote wines and process sales.
• Comply with Liquor Act No. 59 of 2003 and all regulations governing sale of alcohol.
• This is a live-out position.
