Placements24 is seeking a Well Intervention Engineer for its client in East London, Eastern Cape. The role combines field support with remote technical analysis and planning in a hybrid setup, focusing on optimizing production and maintaining well integrity.

The ideal candidate has a petroleum engineering background, 6+ years in well intervention, and strong skills in completion designs, artificial lift, and production optimization. Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in well intervention or production engineering in Oil & Gas.
• Knowledge of completion designs, artificial lift, and stimulation techniques.
• Experience planning and executing well workovers and production optimization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and supervise well intervention operations (workovers, completions, stimulation).
• Optimize artificial lift systems (ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift) to maximize production.
• Analyze well performance data and identify opportunities for production enhancement.
• Develop cost-effective intervention strategies addressing well integrity, sand production, and scaling.
• Ensure all intervention activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.
• Prepare detailed well intervention programs including equipment, procedures, and risk assessments.
