About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the South African Oil & Gas industry , is seeking an experienced Senior Well Intervention Engineer to join their dedicated operational team. This crucial role focuses on planning, executing, and optimizing well intervention operations, including workovers, well servicing, and plug and abandonment activities, to ensure efficient production and maintain asset integrity. The position is based in Upington, Northern Cape, ZA . We are looking for a professional with a strong background in wellbore operations, a deep understanding of downhole tools and techniques, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maximizing reservoir performance and extending the life of producing assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive well intervention programs, including workover, completion, and abandonment strategies.
• Plan and design the execution of well intervention operations, selecting appropriate equipment and services.
• Supervise well intervention operations on-site, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and operational plans.
• Manage the selection and deployment of specialized downhole tools and equipment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in planning and executing a variety of well intervention operations.
• Strong understanding of downhole tools, fishing techniques, and remedial wellbore operations.
• Familiarity with wireline, slickline, and coiled tubing operations.
• Knowledge of well control principles and procedures is essential.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Experience with plug and abandonment (P&A) operations is a significant advantage.
