Placements24 is seeking a Well Intervention Engineer for a field-based role in Paarl, Western Cape. You will plan, execute and supervise a range of well intervention operations including workovers and completions, ensuring safety and efficiency.

The role demands strong subsurface experience and leadership in a challenging field environment. The ideal candidate holds a BEng in Petroleum Engineering with at least eight years in well operations, and is proficient with relevant well engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in well operations with focus on well intervention and workovers.
• Experience planning and executing complex well intervention projects.
• Strong understanding of wellbore integrity, completion design, and artificial lift systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design well intervention programs including workovers, completions, and artificial lift installations.
• Prepare detailed procedures, risk assessments, and cost estimates.
• Supervise on-site intervention operations ensuring safety and standards.
• Coordinate with service companies and internal teams (geology, reservoir, production).
• Monitor performance post-intervention and evaluate effectiveness of operations.
• Troubleshoot issues during interventions.
• Document and report all intervention activities.
• Maintain knowledge of well intervention technologies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and designing well intervention programs, including workovers, completions, and artificial lift installations.
