Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Civil Design Engineer in Mossel Bay to lead water and wastewater infrastructure design. You’ll create detailed drawings, perform hydraulic modeling, and ensure compliance with SANS and municipal standards, with site visits as needed.

The role requires a BEng in Civil Engineering and professional registration (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) with ECSA, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience. A hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) with ECSA.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in water and wastewater design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and water/wastewater modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Design water supply systems, including treatment plants, reservoirs, and distribution pipelines.
• Design wastewater collection systems, including sewer networks and pumping stations.
• Develop process designs for wastewater treatment facilities.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications using CAD software.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water and wastewater systems.
• Perform site assessments and feasibility studies for new projects.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant SANS standards, environmental regulations, and municipal requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, other engineers, and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site inspections.
