Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to support municipal development in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will design water supply and wastewater systems, perform hydraulic modeling, and contribute to integrated water resource management plans.

The role demands a Civil Engineering degree with specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering, plus 7+ years in water/wastewater design and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering design and project management.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, WaterGEMS, InfoWorks) and CAD software.
• Strong understanding of South African water quality standards, environmental regulations, and SANS codes.
• Experience in project planning, budgeting, and site supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop water supply systems, including treatment plants, pipelines, and storage facilities.
• Plan and design wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and stormwater networks.
• Perform feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments for water-related projects.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
• Oversee the construction phase of water infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Liaise with municipal clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
• Develop integrated water resource management plans and strategies.
• Monitor and report on the performance of water and wastewater systems.
