Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Civil Engineer with a focus on water and sanitation infrastructure to join our client in Upington. You will design, develop, and oversee water supply networks, wastewater treatment and sewerage projects, spanning feasibility studies through construction oversight, with a strong emphasis on hydraulics and environmental engineering.

You will contribute to essential infrastructure development, collaborating with a skilled team to deliver reliable utility services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in water and sanitation engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration or eligibility is preferred.
• Proficiency in design software for water and wastewater systems.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and environmental engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan water supply networks, wastewater collection systems, and treatment facilities.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and modeling for water distribution and sewerage systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents for water and sanitation projects.
• Conduct site investigations, surveys, and feasibility studies for new infrastructure development.
• Provide technical supervision during the construction phase, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to manage project execution effectively.
